Insuring Women’s Futures: ‘The March of the Ambassadors’

On 6th March 2019, we held our very first Insuring Women’s Futures Ambassadors event, which over 120 people attended.

We would like to thank all of those that attended and participated in the event.

Also a huge thank you to Aviva for allowing the CII / Insuring Women’s Futures to use their amazing Hoxton Square Digital Garden venue to host this.

Women of the World Festival

Founder of the WOW Foundation, Jude Kelly will chair a debate featuring many of the key people involved in the IWF Programme; discussing how women can be empowered to take control of their long term financial resilience using the insights that have emerged from the key IWF reports to date.

Securing the financial futures of the next generation

We will be launching new research as a follow-up to our previous report ‘Risk, exposure and resilience to risk in Britain today’.  This new research has identified critical points in individuals’ lives and the trends that will shape younger generations’ future wellbeing and resilience.

We are reaching out to individuals and organisations interested in improving society’s risk resilience to join a conversation with the insurance profession on the opportunities to effect meaningful change.

60 female students from local inner London schools will hear from inspiring motivational speaker Vanessa Vallely on how she worked her way up from humble beginnings in the East End to C-suite success.

Following Vanessa’s speech, students will join speed-mentoring round-tables with 16 of the profession’s brightest young stars to quiz them on what they could get from a career in insurance, and how they can achieve their potential.

Insuring Women’s Futures is launching the first HeForShe campaign to cover an entire profession.

Dominic Christian, and Russell Higginbotham, incumbent and upcoming Presidents of the IIL will be joined by Laura Haynes, UK Chair UN Women, the Insuring Women’s Futures Committee, as well as Huw Evans, Director General, ABI in sharing their own personal commitments and explain what HeForShe means to them personally.

Insuring Women’s Futures was launched on 11th March at the WoW London Festival, where members of the IWF Committee hosted a stand in the Southbank MarketPlace, where they met and spoke with over 200 women to hear their views on their own risks in life, how they felt about insurance protection as a solution.
